Ol Pejeta is a private, fenced conservancy on the equator in central Kenya, run as a working wildlife sanctuary rather than a national park. It's the last home of the two remaining northern white rhino, both female, kept under permanent guard, and it also runs a chimpanzee sanctuary for animals rescued from the illegal trade elsewhere in Africa.

Best Time to Visit
June to September
Dry season with short grass, giving good visibility for both the rhino sanctuary and general game drives.
December to March
Warm and largely dry, a reliable stretch for visiting alongside a Mount Kenya or Samburu itinerary.
April to May
Rains green up the conservancy. Wildlife viewing continues, though some tracks get muddy.
